This would be cool to come across on a dive.

Rare pink dolphin in Calcasieu Ship Channel

by The Associated Press Wednesday May 27, 2009, 11:40 AM

NEW ORLEANS -- Leaping through the water with four dark gray dolphins, the pink one is easy to spot.

The rare bottlenose dolphin is a frequent visitor to the lower Calcasieu Ship Channel south of Lake Charles.
Roddy Blackburn, crewman and relief captain of a boat that ferries pilots to and from ships in the channel, says they see him on a regular basis.
Michael Harbison, a state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries biologist, say it's albino, and has red eyes. Since its skin has no pigment, it can appear pink when backlit as the color of blood under the skin becomes visible.
Biologist say albino dolphins are rare -- the Lake Charles animal is just the 14th reliably reported worldwide, and the third in the Gulf of Mexico.

Must be a slow news day for AP. This is an old story, pretty sure it was posted here previously as well.

Yeah, I've seen the same picture and read about it before as well. Still, a very cool find.

OK.... just imagine you are at about 80 to 90 ft on some wreck off of Panama City and you turn to check on your buddy and instead of your buddy ...there is a bright pink dolphin...what do you do? Ascend..due to Narcosis?...or....Keep the story to yourself..cause who is going to believe you...HaHa!!!

It would scare the hell out of me...Who would wear pink to dive ;)
