benncool:For the last couple of decade the American news media has a new way of presenting a story. "Who's fault was it????" Details at 11.
Woman killed by a drunk driver. It was the State Police fault for not having enough check points.
World Trade Center. The CIA wasn't talking to the FBI. Therefore the intelligence community was the blame for that attack.
Tsunami! Surely the meterlogist are at fault and George Bush is responsible for all of the people who died in the aftermath.
You can't use your own mind to figure out what happened in these situations. You must get a "NEW" slant on the events. Who's fault is that?
RIDIVER501:Benn, they (the media) use that as a tactics to keep us from calling them on thier ineptness.
like them calling 01 jan 2000 the start of the new millenium. Not 01 jan 2001 was.
Or listing nurse sharks as a danger to man, or my recent favorite, the explaination of seasonal effective disorder where the reporter kept saying how it is worse in jan and feb becuase the days (daylight wise) keep getting shorter and shorter during those months.
Ahhh, no the shortest day (daylight wise) of the year is winter solstice 21-22 december thank you very little. since the 22 od Dec the days will keep getting longer and longer. the reason it it worse in JAN and feb is becuase the days still have less then 12 hours of day light in them, but we have been having that shortage of daylight for months and it is starting to catch up with those who are susceptible to it.
Note: there is no such thing as a short day. all calendar days still have 24 hours on this planet. I personally have short days every day becuase I am 5'5". and no there is no challenge vertically or otherwise, just keep in mind everybody is roughly the same size when they are lying on thier back this concludes our broadcast day.
cancun mark:and regarding people lying on their back, ALL people are less bouyant when lying on their back than when they are lying flat on their belly.
Ok, you are going to have to run that one by me again, its not my fault i am stupidcancun mark:and regarding people lying on their back, ALL people are less bouyant when lying on their back than when they are lying flat on their belly.
Me toocancun mark:well Im certainly glad that this thread is back on topic...
cancun mark:BTW grey nurse sharks bite more people than any other sharks or more accurately "suck" and they do not have real teeth. They do aparently have huge suction power and use it to suck worms and crustaceans out of the sand.
So we can conclude that while it "sucks" to be a grey nurse shark,.....
Its no their fault..

4 years ago - see, still got you confused - stupid mediabaltimoron:I am not getting your logic.... since they allegedly screwed up about the 2000/2001 issue, who are you saying they blamed? also, I think these things are not really big issues, who really cares about the millennium thing, that was done five years ago.
People who are SAD due to Seasonal Affected Disorder, or at least that is the acronym we use on the other side of the Atlanticbaltimoron:Who cares about seasonal effective disorder and them saying the days are short in January?
What you have to realise is that in this day and age of 24 hour news coverage, they have to fill time between real stories with something juicy to keep you watching, be that "news" about entertainment "stars", others in the public eye and of course useless trivia or blamestorming, coming up with stuff while they wait out (see fill in) time before real facts come out - as long as someone is on the scene and people can see the horror then they might get your attention. This is a two way street here people, they know people will watch it, people get drawn in by bad or scandalous news and they provide more of it. Not saying the tsunami and other major events/disasters arent real news, i am just talking of the other stuff, the filler stuff, the real non-events or else when something big does happen like i said above, they get someone there even though they dont know jack about what is going on at the time - as long as they are the first on the scene showing it, that gets ratings!baltimoron:To me, these things don't really matter and as long as they don't impair me getting the news fast and efficient, I don't care that much. It would be a big deal to me say if a congressman was gay or not, since its nobody's bussieness and it wastes news cycles when probably MUCH important things are happening that I would rather know about. I want the meat of the story to be as accurate as possible, and the stuff I don't care about they can say whatever they want.
they were example of the shoddy work they do B.baltimoron:I am not getting your logic.... since they allegedly screwed up about the 2000/2001 issue, who are you saying they blamed?
