I just don't log dives
Well, the extended weather forecast for the days I am on Curacao says it is going to rain every day I am there. Of course forecasts more than a week out aren't very reliable, but I guess this dive trip might be a little wetter than some.

Luckily, I remain wet most of the day anyway. One more reason why scuba is better than golf, tennis, etc.,...it doesn't matter so much if it rains.

Sunshine, do you have umbrellas available for dinnertime?

Last time I was in Bonaire the forecast said rain every day and I'm sure it did but I didn't see any. ;)

So far the rain has'nt been much. The last real water that came down was on October 8. Since then we have only seen some small scattered showers and mainly at night.
The garden cries: let it rain !

JD My theory is that the forecast is for the ABC islands and that covers probably an area almost 100 miles across. When it says scattered showers, there's an excellent chance it might rain within those boundaries. Quite often my friends have complain of rain in town and we haven't had any. In the 2 1/2 years we've been here, Omar, this week last year brought us rain for 3 days and last November we had some rain but not all heavy, every day for one week. On rainy days you just need to stay away from "beach" dive sites to have clearer visibility. I asked around and I don't think we have access to the lagoon I wanted to visit in the east. We can plan a day to go to director's bay and... whaddya think K, which other east side shore dive?

On the east side you can do:
  • The tugboat in the Caracasbaai
  • Janthiel baai (with beach and beach bar and dive operator)
  • Marie Pompoen/ Pierebaai (with the Dive Hut on shore)
and west of town there are:
  • Blauwbaai / Blue Bay (restaurant, bar and dive operator)
  • Slangenbaai / Snake bay (no facilities)
  • Daaibooi baai (snacks and drinks)
  • Porto Marie (beach bar with kitchen and dive operator)

I saw the first snow flurries this morning................aaaaaagh, rain on Bonaire would still sound like heaven. And in 7 days I'll find out for myself.

First time I was going to bonaire I was looking at weather underground all the time. forcast for possibility of thunderstorms everyday. when i asked about that when on Bonaire was told there are never any thunderstorms. well not sure how true that is but it rained very little if at all during my awake time.
This was November 2001. I was there for 16 days or so. i wouldn't be too concerned about weather forcasts for Bonaire .

Well, I can't complain too much about a little rain during the rainy season.

I am looking forward to Director's. The mystery lagoon has me intrigued...maybe I can send a cute kid to beg for access? Anywhere will be great! Maybe lunch between dives?

We can finalize plans next week.
