i need to get a picture for my cert card and i was wondering whether i have to get one of those passport photos from a photobooth. or whether i could just use a picture printed from my pc?

I'm sure that it need not be passport format. Our shop just popped off some Polaroids and sent them in. Any representative face shot should do. Remember that there is a chance that somebody will want to verify you as the card holder someday.

I know for PADI, we use ones we take from digital cameras. In fact, we can send them in digitally. Not sure if they are still doing that.

But I'm sure you don't need to go get a passport photo. Print one from the PC the same size as the passport photo and that should be good.

you can use a picture saved on your PC....just crop it so your face is facing the camera with no glasses, no hat, and make sure the upper part of your sholders is in the picture....

It has to be on photo paper and hast to be the same size as a passport photo. I even think that your head has to be a particular size in the photo. It would be safe to go get a passport photo done. I keep a few in my dive log for classes I take, and when I run low I get a new photo.

what so i can use one prined just on standard paper?

My instructor always takes one of us himself at the end of the class, it never is pretty.

As long as the pic can be scaned it should be fine..The old days they would but the pic you sent in on card now they for the most part just scan pic and print the card..
