I left my house this morning (9-19-09) in a terrential downpour and was second guessing myself as to why on earth I was driving to the beach to dive in these conditions. I made a pact with myself that if if the weather continued to be bad once I hit the three mile bridge I would turn around. Luckily for me the weather broke a little before the bridge and things got progressively better from there. The clouds gave way to sunny skies over the tip of Ft. Pickens that lasted pretty much the entire time with the exception of one cloud that came in a dumped rain for about 5 minutes and then the sun returned
. Low tide was at 6:51 am and I expected less than stellar visibility, but I was pleasantly surprised when I splashed into 15 feet of visibility that opened up to 20 once off the rocks and into the pass around the tank/culvert area. I guess all of the rain has flooded the bay with fresh water allowing for the good conditions. In fact I have dove here during high tide and had worse conditions, so I was very happy with the conditions. I had a great couple of dives and got home quickly to recharge as I will be leaving shortly for Destin to do a night dive with everyone http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/de...-night-dive-destin-jetties-sat-sept-19th.html
