Will be at the Epcot Center on the 31st of this month. I just got off the phone with revervations. I can dive the tank at 4:30 or 5:30. Didn't reserve because the guy said its a 3 hour ordeal. Does it really take 3 hours from start to finish? Can I shorten the time? My cruise ship leaves at 9pm. Figure I should be on the road by 7pm.

I did the living seas dive around a year and half ago. It seemed like it was around 2-3 hours. There was a lot of shuttling you around room to room. You have to go through what seemed like a lot of "breifing" dive and Disney related. However I thought it was well worth the time and money.

If you go to the 4:30 slot, you are usually in the water by about 5:30, out by 6:30 and showered/changed by 7 or so. People tend to hang around for a while filling out log books, doing a survey, buying the DVD, but I've seen people tell them they have to bolt and just give back their locker keys and leave, so it should be something you could manage. It depends upon how slow people are getting in and out of the water, because evrything is done as a group of 10 or 12. I've done the 4:30 slot twice and I think I was out by 7:30 each time, but I made no effort to leave early.

"Ordeal" doesn't seem to be the right word. It's supposed to be a fun thing!

All the other stuff besides the dive is part of the experience. If you're going to be impatiently waiting through the other stuff to get in the water, worrying the whole time you'll be late, rushing afterwards, it might not be worth the $$$ this time.

(What I've always heard - and worked for us - is to try and do the later session because the dive may last longer.)

think I'll pass on the dive. Not worth missing the boat for it. My rental car would have to be right outside the tank for me to make it back to the ship on time after dropping it off anyway. Oh well, guess I'm just diving Freeport.
