I am an avid scuba diver and love to dive in exotic but remote destinations. My problem is the lack of being connected to fast and reliable email in those locations. I want to dive Truck, Palau and other remote locals but the liveaboards have poor to no internet access
and I have been told that most resorts have little internet access if any.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the hardware and communication services available on the marketplace that would enable me to stay connected via email in these remote locals?
Thanks
Bob Peterson

I have found that most resorts now have some internet access at least in the Caribbean basin. When I go to Palau I will be bringing a satellite phone with me. It's about $150.00 to rent for two weeks and $1.80 per minute to use. It works anywhere in the world as long as you are outside. It would seem that you could use the same phone to uplink to a browser and run a lap-top. I'm sure there are people out there with more knowledge than me on this one.
