Hi All,

I would like to know if anyone can assist me with my T1 reg.

Yesterday I dove with my instructor in Anilao (Batangas, Phils.) and while diving he saw that there were bubbles coming out of the 1st stage.. now..T1 as I understand it (my cousin went back to the US and left her gear, so I get to use it.. :D ) uses pistons and teflons as supposed to O-rings.. anyway as my instructor pointed out, that may not be natural..but since he's not familiar with the T1..he wants to make sure first before having it serviced. So is it natural to see bubbles coming out of the T1 1st stage.. the bubbles exits from the middle part of the Reg.. where the titanium meets with the rubber.. it's in the rubber that the bubbles come out.. if you peer through it you will see holes and you can see metal Ball Bearings (this is where the bubbles exits)

Now if this is not natural, I would like to know if someone may know of a service shop here in the Philippines (manila) who can service it.. I do not want to leve it in a shop who will say " I can do it" but in reality cannot..

Thanks..

Albert

If so, this is not normal. How long has it been since the regulator was serviced? A Likely cause of the leak is the small green o-ring that goes around the 1st stage piston stem or the HP seat being wasted and IP being too high for the green o-ring to hold.

And FYI, Atomic regs use o-rings. They also use teflon shims to regulate IP in the 1st stage.

It looks as though your best bet is either Indonesia or Thailand

Hi rakkis.. yes that's the reg...been looking for a pic to better describe it.. it's the black rubber that the bubbles exits to... anyway thank you for the info... this clarifies alot now.. hmm as for the servicing.. it would have been over two years..hehehhe this is my cousin's reg, who left her equipment for me to watch over and use :D .. great help on the distributors.. I will certainly look into them..

Albert

Look closer. I drew a red arrow indication the part of the regulator I think you're talking about.
Service interval for the T1 is two years. Go get it serviced

Yup.. that's the one.. that's where the bubbles are coming out from.. thanks Rakkis..I will definitely get serviced...

Cheers,

Albert

Congratulations Dave, I am happy for you. But what does this have to do with a post on an Atomic T1? :rofl3:
