All, Fellow Divers,
Please help me. I just purchased a Zeagle brand, Tech model BCD. I am sitting in my living room checking out all of the straps, pockets, features, etc. Basically ogling it since I won't have a chance to dive it for at least four weeks.

As I look at the back of the Zeagle Tech BC, I see two weight pockets for trimming weight, two tank straps (holds air tank to your back, duh), and one strap whose function is unknown to me. The mystery strap is located just above the upper tank strap and just below the location where the BC inflator hose attaches to the back side of the BC. What is this strap? What is it used for? Any advice/guidance much appreciated. Thanks.

JR
p.s. I probably won't be able to hit scuba board again until next Wednesday.

If you remember to put it on, it also might keep the tank from slipping all the way out, in the very unlikely event that both your tank straps slip.

I have also on a few occassions used it to hang the BC to dry when a hanger or better method wasn't available. Like on a boat when you have broken everything down after your last dive. It can be hung over a tank valve using the strap.

You can also use it as a handle to carry the BC. It's a convienent grap point.

The carry strap can stop a BC from moving down the tank, if you loop it over the neck of a tank, but it will not stop the tank from slipping down.

Personally I take them off, as they just get in the way.
