Is the "sardine run" in Moalboal a real sardine run like what you get in South Africa (bait ball with participating sharks, dolphins, tuna, birds and even whales), or it's just schooling sardines? The videos I've seen don't seem to show any predators.
I ask because I'm more interested in the bait ball action type of dives. If Moalboal isn't the place, are there alternatives to South Africa for this kind of dives? Not so keen on going to South Africa due to security issues, as I'm a solo female diver.
Thanks vm,

My recollection of Moalboal is that it was schools of sardines … beautiful, but few predators.

The biggest difficulty with any of the sardine runs … South Africa, Mexico or elsewhere … is getting your timing right. A week too early or a week too late, and you will have spent your money and time and missed it 🤷🏽‍♂️. The timing of the sardine migration is always a guesstimate.

See thread below for Mexico sardine run … but remember timing is uncertain
