Hi all,

I'm looking for a buddy to go diving in Cyprus. My question is where should I look? I looked on the net for some time (and didn't find anything related to cyprus).

I went to some gear/sports/dive shops around here and asked if they knew who I should speak to for this; all I got were a few fliers for other dive shops in town. I went then with a few of those (and with shops in other towns in cyprus, but it's getting old, it's expensive, and it's supervised diving - I want to start planing my own dives).

I also have some friends who said they "might be tempted" to get certified over the summer but that means two to four months on the shore (and it's too long to wait).

Are there any diving clubs I missed? Should I try posting newspaper ads? Burn some incense to the SCUBA gods?

Are there others in this situation? If yes, what do (or did) you do?

I'm sure this could have been discussed before but I didn't find any relevant threads (if you know some, please post a link).

You could try posting in the Europe forum ;)

Laurens
yeah ... did that (thanks :))

I meant ohter possibilities I might have missed (maybe there are ways to meet divers locally (off the net) that I didn't know about.

I was also interested to know what others in my situation did/do.
