Welcome to the board, and take the class over again! If you can go back to where you took the written test and see if they'll forget the charges or at least cut you some kinda deal since you had took half of it before.

One year is the maximun. As everyone has advice, do get a refresher for it. I am sure your previous instructor is much willing to go through it with you again.
