I use an Escape (very similar to the Stiletto). Makes a *great* local *and* travel BC (packs up very well).

I use a compact AL80 tank (a bit heavier then standard AL80), however, I get the best trim with 60-70% of my shot weights in the front trim pockets. I also agree that it's simple enough to unzip and ditch, however, I've never had to... so, in a bladder failure situation, during a wall/drift dive... I might just hit the zipcord!

I dive the Stiletto and tried just weights in the front with a steel tank and love it.
AAMOF, I just now took the trim weight packs off and will try that in the ocean this week. I came across this thread because I was going to post to see if any other Stiletto owners tried taking off the trim weights.
I did this mainly to cut down on the clutter on the rear when switching tanks.

As for the BC itself, I love it and will probably buy Zeagle on my next purchase. It is the minimalist approach to BC's..IMO.
