Question about recent articles of sand theft

I have seen a few articles about the theft of a sand dune that occurred in the last week or so. It is not clear where the sand was taken from, or how extensive the damage was. Has anyone seen the area or have more info? Just curious about environmental issues. I didn't save any of the other articles but I saw this one today.

The sand was taken from a sand dune in an area just before Coconuts on the east side. There is quite a chunk of the dune gone so must have been quite a few dump trucks.

This is not the only incident of sand theft, either. This has happened several times before. It's just that this is the first time I know of that they've found any of the missing sand.
