Nice pictures octopuppy. Especially the birds. The only one I can do without is the spider:D.

The snorkel access from CCV is vastly closer than FIBR.

At CCV it begins at your cabin step. From FIBR, it's about 300' from the Shore Dive Gazebo.

that is an excellent snorkeling guide! I actually regret not snorkeling on our trip last year. We were so busy diving, plus it was rainy, so we never got around to it. The Front Yard is fantastic and we saw so many critters there when we were coming back from dives! This trip, in March, I plan to snorkel all around the area and see it from that perspective. :D

Maggie - be sure to go snorkeling at night around the shore dive platform where you stop to put on your fins. Right there at night we were greeted by squid who escorted us out to the dive area and back again after our dive! The squid were within 1-2" of surface the whole time. I bet your husband will like that! They were glowing pink and blue but my husband didn't get any photos as his battery died. :depressed: We were told by others that week that a big green moray was hanging out under the platform, too. We didn't see it, I guess we were too distracted by the squid. :D

Thanks RoatanMan, that's a great map. I didn't see it yesterday for some reason, but now I see it. I will print it and bring it.

Luckily I just found out there are cabanas still available, so now I just have to get the final OK from hubby (that of course is on a business trip for a couple of days, but I see this as a done deal now:D). He would love a night snorkel I think. I'm more of a coward and would like to see what's in the water. Don't want to be a shark or barracuda bait, lol. Never tried night diving either. We'll see if I dare this time.

Robint, I will go through your great photos again and I have to show them to my husband. I really appreciate all help I've got.

If all he wants to do is snorkel, he will have a blast in the front yard.

Well, I think he would like to do a little more than just snorkel, but I'm sure he'll like the frontyard.

Now it's settled anyway. He's coming with me and we're staying in one of the cabanas.

Now I will look for flights.

Thanks everyone again, you are all great help.
