It's January so while I dive throughout the year here in Rhode Island, I spend more time during the winter, planning our summer adventures. As we were discussing what new wrecks to search for, it occured to me that I have now reached the 25 year mark in this great sport/hobby/obsession. What is neat is that this is also the year that my wife hits 20 years of diving and my 11 soon to be 12 year old son will be getting his certification. I hope to have another 25 .

Is this John Stanford? This is Eric Bailey.

If you have his digits, I'd call him------his last time here was almost 4 yeras ago....

He is now Sean222 instead of Sean22. He's still on here pretty regularly.

I too have hit that milestone as got OW cert in '79. What's really mind boggling is have two of 3 kiddo's (16 and 13) freshly OW certified to share my passion with. Was so cool when one of them recently asked when can we get out again. He couldn't resist posting his pic all suited up on his FB page to show his mates.

I took one of my Son's friends out yesterday who was in my Son's OW class yesterday. It was his first dive since his OW classes (which were done in a pond/lake) I took him to Nubble light house and it was priceless seeing his eyes uw and checking out all the cool stuff. Such a cool feeling taking a newbie under for first time. My daughter was blown away by the smallest things we take for granted. (hard for me to get excited about seeing a moon snail.)

The years go by quickly don't they?

Yes I am still around. Sean is my Son's name and I went to Sean222 because I forgot my user ID and needed a new one. Like you, since I wrote that thread, my son has gone from new diver to becoming a new Driver(many sleepless nights ahead I am afraid).
