I do not have a dog in this fight (quote attributed to Michael Vick ) but I will say this, the more I read from the people at Deep 6, the more I love their model and customer service. You can dig through pages of posts here that really highlight the customer service and quality of their products but I think the one statement that really sticks out is:
I have not been diving long but as a machinist for 10 years and having worked for manufacturers I can tell you I have never seen any company tell you to to change brands if you even have a "niggle" of a doubt. To me this shows that D6 is a diver first company who actually cares about your direct safety. Kudos to @cerich and the entire @Deep Six team.
Full disclosure, I have purchased fins and a dry box from them but that is it and in no way am I now or ever been compensated.
We'll do whatever you like, but this next part is important, the most important thing is that you and your father be comfortable with the gear you are using, if there will be a "niggle" of doubt, switch to another brand. Diving should be fun, not stressful with concerns eating away at you.
