I'm going to be in Puerto Vallarta for a week in July. Not really a "dive vacation", but I figured I'd give it a shot while I'm there. It would be good to see some new fish, maybe even some starfish, and I've only dived the Pacific coast once (La Jolla, which was dark, freezing, and all I saw was one totally sweet nudibranch).

Questions:
1. Should I bother? I'm not expecting Caribbean conditions, but will the water temperature and viz at least be reasonable in July?
2. Any recommendations for operators?

Thanks, fish-people!

Yes, bother, PV in July is fantastic. 84-86 degrees water temp, VIs should be in excess of 100'.
Look up PV ocean tours for a great, simple panga dive experience.
