Anyone been out off PV recently? How have conditions been?

We had blue water in the top twenty feet today and last weekend with crappy vis on the bottom at Hermosa Artificial Reef. Uncomfortably warm at 69°. Similar conditions last weekend off Redondo Beach. We looked at Marineland and Honeymoon Cove but it was pretty green.

Thanks Phil. I was hoping you'd reply. Trying to get out tomorrow, but now sure where we are headed. Luckily we have a great reference book-Diving the Palos Verdes Peninsula: Phil Garner: 9781469981925: Amazon.com: Books

We're going to try Hermosa Reef again tomorrow. The Giant Sea Bass are still in and we even saw our first broomtail grouper. Merry got one shot but it's not great so she wants a do-over dive.

Got two good dives in off Lighthouse Point (Whale Rock?). Temps to 64 at 45 ft with 15-20 ft viz unless the sandstorms came though. Lots of surge. We got out and back to Long Beach before it got too nautical. You know things have picked up when you come up from dive two and the sailing regatta is going by you with full Spinnakers.

Also was happy to see DFG come by and talk with us and remind us of the MPA (not that we needed it). A holiday weekend is a good time for them to be out and about.
