The pushbutton for the macro setting on our almost new canon 1400 housing pushes down but you have to press very hard and hold it there a while to make contact. Is there an adjustment for this?

Make sure your camera is screwed down tight to tray. Otherwise the camera can rock/tilt forward when trying to operate a pushbutton.

Many pushbuttons on the backs of ULTRAcompact style cases are designed to depress all of the way to activate the control on the surface. This is done to account for compression of the case at depth.

If you received a small bag of replacement control tips with the housing, you could try installing a different tip (they are not glued on) to slightly lengthen the control. If not then PM me your address and I can have a couple of different tips mailed to you.
