I have a DC800 and purchased the Wide angle lens. You have to zoom in in order to take photos otherwise it vignettes.
Is there any reason to have this lens on the DC800?
I know the DC1000 and 1200 now have it.

That wide angle lens is really not good for the dc800. They tell you on there site that they really arent compatible.

For the DC1000 they went back to the optional WA lens. As deeper thoughts said, it's not really meant for the DC800 because that one's already equipped with WA built in (thereby giving you some vignetting).

When I bought my DC500, I got the WA lens and there is some minor vignetting with it which is easily cropped out with almost no loss content (dark corners only). I now use the DC1000 and while I've only shot a few pics with the WA equipped I have not noticed it.
