We stopped offering Catalina trips long tie ago. The sea life is not what is used to be, the sea is most of the time rough on the way back, so that ruins usually the diving / island experience. The sea conditions and the visibility is different then in previous years due to all the weather changes. Normally the visibility is pretty good. But not as good as if you dive towards the east from Bayahibe.
Good to hear you had nice dives around Punta Cana too. But if you plan a scuba vacation in DR in the future, book a resort around Bayahibe and you will have more choices for diving.
