Man collapses, dies after dive near Little Boston - Kingston Community News
LITTLE BOSTON — A man collapsed after a dive near here Wednesday afternoon, and efforts to resuscitate him by the diver’s fellow crew members emergency personnel were unsuccessful.
North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews were called at about 12:35 p.m. Wednesday to the boat launch at Point Julia following a 911 call from the dive boat. It was reported that an adult man was being brought to shore in a small boat and that CPR was in progress. About eight minutes after dispatch, NKF&R crews arrived at the launch to meet the boat. Medics attempted to resuscitate the man for another 40 minutes, but their efforts weren’t successful, NKF&R spokeswoman Michele Laboda reported.
Those on the boat with the man told officials that he’d been diving with surface-supplied air for about 70 minutes when he signaled his intent to surface. He climbed aboard the boat and was removing his gear when, after saying that he didn’t feel well and sitting down, he lost consciousness. His colleagues called 911, started CPR and quickly transferred the man to a smaller vessel that could reach shore faster than the larger boat.
Any further information — such as the man’s age, name and hometown — will be released by the Kitsap County Coroner’s Office, Laboda reported.

Diver dies after resurfacing near Kingston | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO News

KINGSTON, Wash. -- A diver died Wednesday afternoon shortly after completing a dive near Kingston, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue officials said.

Medics were called to the Point Julia area on the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribal Reservation to treat a man who went unconscious after coming out of the water.

The man had been under water using diving apparatus with air supplied by a compressor on the boat. He reported feeling ill to others on the boat after getting out of the water and then passed out. The others on the boat began CPR until fire crews arrived and took over.

Fire crews spent 40 minutes but were not able to revive the man.

His name has not been released.

Has anyone found any information with the diver's name? I know a geoduck commercial diver and am hoping to confirm it wasn't him.

I do, too, and have been waiting for that information to be released.

Thank you, Dandy Don, for getting the facts to SB.
