Going to Riu Vallarta hotel in a couple weeks. Any suggested dive operations? Thanks. Master diver certified so just about anything goes.

If you were actually staying in Puerto Vallarta then I'd definitely say PV Ocean Tours.

PV Ocean Tours. Diving + All your ocean needs

But since you will be staying way the heck up in Nuevo Vallarta a taxi ride to Playa Mismaloya might be a little pricey. Actually, Nuevo isn't even in the same state as Puerto Vallarta. Please post if you find someone else up there that you like and would recommend.

I am headed there next week. Would be nice to get a trip report if you are there before me. Thanks

For @Norwegian Cave Diver if you haven't taken off yet: I stayed in Nuevo Vallarta about 5 years ago. You can see the dive sites on the map. I'm not an expert as I only did one dive at Las Caletas (but did a little research looking for dive ops.) It really makes no difference if you're in Nuevo or Puerto Vallarta, you go to the same dive sites. As @JamesBon92007 indicated Mismaloya is pretty far away, and as I recall, they had a site nearby them, but also went to the more frequented spots. I did my dive with Vallarta Adventures - you can water taxi (free) across the marina to get there. Although I enjoyed the dive (viz wasn't great but it was just me and the DM for about an hour to a max depth of 105') the reasons I only did 1 dive was 1) diving was combined with snorkeling/beach tours. After I completed my dive, I then joined my wife and friends on the beach for food and fun. 2) boat rides would be anywhere from 30-50 minutes, and 3) There was no op close by that was just a dedicated dive op. Having said that, there was a small stand on the beach of Paradise Village, which is where we stayed, where you could sign up for dives but it was hard to find the guy and he couldn't give exact days he was going out. Think he was into more of introducing people to diving.

Vallarta Adventures does have some other great excursions though.
