Puerto Rico This Weekend

My apologies for the "semi-repetitive" post...thought a new subject line might bring more responses.

I'm going to San Juan this weekend (March 17-19) ....will be there all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...leaving Monday morning. Was not planning on renting a car.

Looking for a good place to dive...and perhaps have my wife join me for some snorkeling at the same time (she's also certified OW...but not sure if she wants to dive this weekend.)

I hear that diving in San Juan isn't the best...so would like to go 'outside' the city a bit to the East or West coasts. I'd prefer a boat dive, since I've read here that shore dives are a bit...uh....murky.

1) are there any day dives that include transportation from San Juan?
2) if not, where's the best place to go that's close enough so I can do it all in one day? I have hotel reservations in San Juan already and fear I cannot cancel even one night.

I've searched the forum....but haven't yet found what I'm looking for. Any and all suggestions are welcome and most appreciated!

Hi Steigy - we'll be overnighting twice in San Juan later this month. Do you have any hotel recommendations?

I will be there this weekend. I am signed up for a 2-tank boat dive off of Humacao and then doing some shore dives out of San Juan. I do not have high expectations but I'm there on business so I am making the most of it. I'll let you know how the shore diving looks. From what I have seen, there are 2-3 dive ops there that will run boats out of San Juan to Culebra which is suppose to be the best diving on the island.
