I had to do some maintenance to my PT-10 housing when the shutter actuator stopped moving freely.
I put some pics of the process on the following site:
PT-10 repair
After nearly 200 dives on the housing, I am still on the original main o-ring and (tiny) tube of grease, though I have a spare for each. There is no sign of deterioration or stretching of the o-ring. The housing has never leaked.
I do not take out and relube the o-ring after each dive. I inspect for dirt or whatever before closing the lid. I fail to see how the o-ring could require grease each time if it is kept clean.
Note that this is contrary to what Olympus recommends. I do take out the o-ring and clean and grease it "occasionally". I said every 5 dives or so on the site, but I don't really keep track. If I see any dirt or if it seems like a while, I clean it. Otherwise, I leave well enough alone.
Because there is no winter where I live, I can dive all year round. So the housing does not sit around unused for any length of time. If it did, I would take out the o-ring and store it separately.
