Hi,

Has anyone taken their SP-350 and PT-030 to 135'?

I know it is rated for this depth but i dont want to flood the camera.

Going to Belize and diving the Blue Hole - Should I leave the camera on the boat for that dive?

Thanks

I dont have the oly housing, but i've taken the similar canon one (for s-70) to 175' on a couple of occasions, with no leaks. The buttons just tend to stay pushed once you push them in though.

I took my PT-015 to 145' once - it didn't leak. There isn't much to photograph in the Blue Hole, so leaving the camera on board wouldn't be much of a sacrifice.

I had the same issue diving the Blue Hole with an olympus housing, I figured that I would rather risk the camera and take a chance of getting some cool shots. The case didn't pop, but as mentioned above, all the buttons stuck due to the distortion of the housing and I didn't get any pics. Worked fine the rest of the trip though I don't think that the housing would handle that much stress too many more times. There are chances to get good shots, it's an awesome dive with lots of sharks and amazing formations. Your call on risk vs reward.

I know have an aluminum housing rated to much deeped than I'm willing to go...

Have fun,
John

Shouldn't be a problem with the depth. Don't freak out if you feel the housing shift. Mine kind of creaks at >100 ft but has never leaked.

My only Olympus leak was at about 40 ft. Poo happens.
