PT-018 Housing

Does anyone know where I can get a PT-018 housing for a decent price? I just bought a refurbished C-740 through Olympus Direct Auctions. I checked on Olympus's website before I bought the camera and they listed the PT-018 as an available housing. After I purchased the camera, I went the next day to order the housing and that is when they showed that the housing was no longer made. How PO'd was I??? I have no intention on spending $500-$600 for an Ikelite housing right now and the cheapest I can find the PT-018 housing for is $360 out of South Africa. The housing originally went for around $169. I have yet to be able to find one of the housings locally and have only seen that it has come up on Ebay on rare occassion going for $300 or more. I would appreciate any information on places that still have them instock otherwise it is going back on an auction to try to recover my costs so I can put it towards one that I can buy a housing for.

A Google search is where I found the South Africa place. There is one other place, in Germany I think, that has them for the $350+ mark. I will continue to look through different types of searches but I sorta live on Google (professional computer geek *LOL*). I'm going to give it a few more days of searching as the camera was just shipped. I sent an e-mail to Olympus to please remove this from their list of available accessories because it is misleading if you're just doing basic research. Like I said, didn't know it was no longer available until I went to buy it.

I just hope the price stays decent. One of them recently went as high as $600 on E-bay based on a forumn out of Oz that I was reading.

I saw where you were looking for a PT-018 for your C-755 in one of your earlier threads. I don't know why I didn't find this thread earlier, perhaps it was due to some of the database problems SB was having as I searched all up and down this forum. I was curious about whether you were able to win one of the bids and what you paid for it.

If I don't find a housing it is really ok, I'll just re-sell it, or give it away as a present and get a different one. Just that the cost of the housing, both out of foreign countries as well as the prices I've seen on E-bay thus far would allow me to buy a better camera that has a current case.

Only looking half-heartedly. I have a C-50 with housing that I use. I just got a great deal on the C-750 and thought a housing would be nice. If one should pop up sometime I'll pick it up but I'm not in any big hurry. Good luck in your search. There's gotta be one around somewhere! (or 2)
