Does anyone know of any dive sites on Prudence Island off the coast of Newport? I will be there in a few weeks and would like to search for some lobsters and quahoags.

You can e-mail me at: "shirshberg@comcast.net" if you have any information.

I will probably not make it over to Jamestown or the mainland to dive.

The water up that far into Narragansett bay gets REALLY murky during the summer.
There are a few sites around the island that you could visit but don't expect to have more than a few feet of visibility. There is a 120' Steel Vessel that was found by NOAA
a few years ago that has become popular with fishermen and divers. There is also the
wreck of the Monhegan (which can be dived from shore very easily) right on Sandy Point. Many commercial shellfisherman work that area for Quahogs so there are sites all around the island.
