Does anyone use a rashguard for warm water diving when you don't need a wetsuit? Here's the situation:

I'm picking up my bp/w this weekend. I'm going to Homestead Crater early next month for my AOW dives. Homestead does not allow exposure protection because the water is 95 degrees. Seems to me the webbing would be hard on my bare skin.

I'm not comfortable with the idea of wearing a bp/w on my skin without anything in between, and I was wondering if anyone had used a rashguard for bp protection. Did it hold up? Or should I just wear an old t-shirt I don't mind tearing up a bit? I can see me using a rashguard for other things, like rafting trips and Caribbean diving, so it's not like a one-time purchase, but I don't know how durable they are.

You could wear a dive skin or even a t-shirt.

Isn't a diveskin considered "exposure protection"?

I've got the old t-shirts, but I figured I'd be violating the "looking good" rule... ;)

T shirt works well. Dont worry too much about "looking good".

You should not listen to remarks such as these. Looking good while diving is second only being safe while diving.

Irksome blasphemer. Don't put ideas into people's heads...

Jeeze...

how about a slapshirt, for surfing? snug fitting, super thin, looks good?

Some are but most like those made of licra or similar materials don't provide any insulation in the water.
