Thanks to an overwhelming effort by organizations, concerned citizens, fisher men and women, charter boat operators, elected leaders, ocean advocates, academics, and scientists working to keep the Gulf free of dangerous industrial ocean fish farming, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has agreed to hold public hearings on their plan for offshore aquaculture. But some Council members still want to move ahead with their plan in January- so now it's time to pack the room and let the Gulf Council know that January is too soon to vote on the livelihoods of Gulf residents!
