I just got in an older regulator made by ProSub. I checked their website and cannot find any links to dealers. Anybody have a clue who deals in ProSubs and where they may be located?

Thanks, C. That thread just about tells me what I'd been thinking since I started looking on the web yesterday when the customer brought it in. They have a website, but it has no way to "find a nearby dealership", which leads me to believe that they may sell directly from the factory in Germany.

I told the customer that I doubted we'd be able to get parts for it, but just for S&Gs I think I'll email the company and see what happens.

Thanks again for your help.

I was in contact with MaxAir 3 years ago and they gave me a name of someone in Houston who worked on my regs. I just tried them again with no luck. I have not yet given up.

I just talked with a guy today that is bringing in parts for the Prosub line to supply customers that have the regulators. He spent several years as the regional rep for Prosub before the distributor pulled the plug. There are literally THOUSANDS of these regulators out there. I don't know if he is planning on advertising but right now he is just supplying his old dive shops and friends.

Prosub was a good "Economy" line and was sold by LOTS of dive shops. It was a shame to see the US Distributor get bored and dump the line.

I'd be interested in getting the contact info for the prosub supplier. I am planning on picking up a prosub set off of craigslist and would like to have them rebuilt.

Hello Dhaslbeck,

Unless you are planning to work on them yourself or have a VERY trustworthy dive shop where the techs LIKE to work on older stuff, I would advise you not to buy an off brand regulator that is no longer in production. This does not mean you will not be able to get parts as there are plenty of generic parts that fit all sorts of regulators, but convincing a shop to work on them will prove difficult.

Good luck,

Couv

Until he is set up with the right insurance, he is only selling to his old dive shop customers. I expect to see Prosub back in the US in the next year or so. It has been very successful in Europe and several people are looking at bringing it back again.

I know this doesn't help you right now. Sorry.

Since Prosub is no longer with us there is a rapidly dwindling supply of parts available. We purchased up pretty much everything we could get our hands on and do still have a small supply of regulator parts left. Unfortunately the bcd parts are no more. Give our repair department a call between 8am and 5pm Pacific time at 800-347-2822 and they should be able to give you more details about the parts they have for Prosub regs.
