Proper way to cut and protect webbing end?

do it easy:
I guess you could do the same thing with the hot knife, but you might have to apply it a few times.

Get the blade red hot and it cuts and finishes the cut at the same time... one pass... bam... you're done.
 
I melted (used one of those long grill-type lighters) and then glued the ends of my hog harness. I used a water proof, durable, clear epoxy glue to further toughen the ends and prevent fraying.
 
Sear makes a great tool for cutting webbing. Looks like a pruning shear but holds about a 4" razor blade. Makes beautiful cuts. Then I use my propane pluming torch.
Works like a champ!
 
I use a machete and then seal the end with Hubba-Bubba. Works fine. Just dont use Bubblicious, it does not last as long.
