I am thinking about getting a steel 130 tank. I have a chute 3 Oceanic bcd and it is rated at 44lbs lift.Would this be enough lift or should i consider a bigger wing/bcd?

considering that I use a 38lb wing for two 130's...I would say you might be ok.strongbow:I am thinking about getting a steel 130 tank. I have a chute 3 Oceanic bcd and it is rated at 44lbs lift.Would this be enough lift or should i consider a bigger wing/bcd?

No. Single tank...the tank is ~10 lbs neg at the start of a dive. You don't need a lot of lift.dherbman:Assuming he's diving dry?
You start off "way" negative. In fresh water....38lbs of lift is barely enough to float the tanks/regs/manifold and the light on its own. (Thats with a AL BP and a trim weight). Salt water, there is no problem.alpaj:Hey Jeff G when you are diving double 130's, are you starting off negative? And 32 pounds is that enough to float two heavy steels, a bp, and possibly a light? Or are you not worried about having your system float on its own? Thanks in advance.
