I completed a Padi cert course a little over a month ago but I have yet to receive my certification card or any temporary proof of certification. I'm leaving to go on a dive trip to the Royal West Indies this week. What should I do to show proof that I am certified.

You should have received a temporary c-card upon completion. Go to where you got certified and pick it up.

Secondly, I recommend contacting the instructor who certified you, or the dive shop you were certified through. You should have received a temp card upon course completion...but if you go to your instructor, he/she should proved one to you, or your c-card may already be waiting for you in the shop.

AND - go to Padi's web site. Your certification should be available there by now. You could print off that evidence and try it.Freija:

Really? I don't think I've not been carded. I have to get out the card anyway to write down the number on the release which would be a big problem with the poster not having a card even if he wasn't asked for it.
I tried the PADI online form at:
https://www.padimembers.com/sforms/replacement/default.asp?region=HQ
and it works. Type in your name and birthdate and it gives you your PADI number.

Yeah, I may not not "remembered" my card number correctly the times I've filled out a form without being asked for a card.redhatmama:

I've only been carded on Project Aware, nobody else has asked for mine to either fill my tanks or to take me on the boat.
Maybe it's luck, but I wouldn't count on it. I'd go back to my instructor and get the temporary, your plastic card should be showing up soon, mine took 2 months. Others have taken one month.

I do hope you can obtain the temporary card without problem, and that your Inst did is job on sending in paperwork right away - in which case Padi should have your info in the computer. You don't have much time for trouble shooting.

Thats interesting. I have had to write the number down and show the card every single time along with when my last dive was and about half the time, how deep. In fact once I wrote AOW and then put the OW number down. They had a cow and wanted the correct card shown to them. That was in Roatan I believe. Every dive has been with a PADI Dive Center, That may make a difference.
