Hi, I haven't used my DC600 in 2 years. When I pulled it out to prepare for a trip and tried to charge my battery, the charger light is green (indicating battery is charged), even though the battery appears not to be charged. At least the camera will not turn on. After 2 years I would expect the battery is dead. So I infer the problem is with the charger. has anyone had this problem and is there a solution short of buying another charger? Thanks for any help.

The charging block will show green without a battery inserted or when the battery is fully charged. It should turn red when a battery is inserted.
Please check/clean the battery contacts. A light wipe with a pencil eraser or an alcohol wipe will make sure the surface is free of oxidation.
Also unplug the charger. Check the 3 charging pins for any debris/oxidation. A quick swipe to clean may help. Also make sure all 3 contacts spring back when pressed.
Then reattach power and try charging the battery.
If you have access to a voltmeter, the voltage readings on the charging block should be
+ to - around 4.17 VDC
T to - around 2.49 VDC
