A buddy of mine just bought a Probe BC a month or so ago. It hasn't even been to OW, just repeated pool sessions. Already the built in retractors line is starting to cut away the grommet where it enters the BC. If he doesn't do something about it now it will cut away the BC material. Has anyone had the same experience and if so what did you do.
Personally I think it should be returned to Oceanic or the LDS.

I have had an Oceanic Probe since last summer and have not had the same experience with the retractor cable cutting the aluminum grommet. My guess is that Oceanic will resolve the issue for your friend. Give them a call and see what happens.
