Just wondering what to budget for meals at the Intercontinental. I know it is pricy but wonder if anyone can offer specifics. Also, are there any other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel? Thanks for any info!

I'd say there aren't any restaurants within walking distance, but that depends on how far you like to walk.

For us, it was better both financially and in culinary terms to rent a car or take taxis to restaurants in town.

There aren't any restaurants within walking distance. We always rent a car and eat most meals in town, except breakfast (which is excellent). The ceviche and grilled shrimp in the bar are both very good and a nice post-dives lunch.

I wanna say that budgeting about $50/person per meal at the hotel would be a healthy estimate. It's probably too much but then it's a nice surprise when it comes in as less.

Depends on what you like to eat, meat is always more expensive than fish, fish is more expensive than pasta, pasta is more expensive than salad.

Lunches we easily spend $50-$75 usd, dinners $100-$150 usd. That's for a couple with dinner with a glass of wine or cocktail, appetizer to split, entree and dessert. Again really depends on what you want to eat, one of their steaks can set you back $40-$50 usd, a pasta dish only $15 usd.

You can look at their menus here for their 5 dining options Restaurantes | Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa
