Please join us on Saturday, March 5th at the Miami Shores Country Club, 10000 Biscayne Blvd, Miami Shores, FL 33138 when we will hear Michael Barnette, FN ‘09, and Joe Citelli, MN ‘09 tell a "Whale of A Tale"and speak about how the curiosity of two fishermen led to the discovery, exploration and identification of the lost Whaleback steamship, The City of Everett.

The City of Everett was the first American steamship to go through the Suez Canal and to circumnavigate the globe. She was in use until she sank in a storm in 1923. She was recently discovered some 150 miles out in the Gulf Of Mexico in 400' of water by members Michael Barnette and Joseph Citelli. Mike and Joe will discuss the planning, logistics and equipment necessary for remote ocean exploration at extreme depths and the history and significance of their find, The City of Everett.

Note this event will be at a new venue, the Miami Shores Country Club, which should be fairly easy to find - Biscayne Blvd and 100th Street in Miami Shores. The menu choice will be boneless breast of chicken with fresh basil beurre blanc or marinated churrasco steak Caribbean style. We must have your menu choice by Tuesday, March 1 or we will choose for you.
