I am new to diving, just certifying in September. I plan to have prescription lens put in my mask this winter. I normally wear no line bifocals and can't decide if I should try to get bifocal lens or just the one prescription. Has anyone had experience with this? I don't want to not be able to read my guages.

My wife needed prescription lenses to read her gauges. When I talked to these folks they suggested bifocals based on her prescription and they were so right. My wife enjoys her diving much more now. Talk to them and see what they recommend,

Skybird,

Awap is right, prescriptiondivemasks.com does a good job. I have used them for a couple of masks over the past few years and have had great service.

Hi,

My wife used 1 DAY ACUVUE Johnson&Johnson disposable contact lenses, she say better than use power mask......She say good vision....

I have had a Seavision mask since 1995! It has an older RX compared to my current RX, but It still provides me with excellent vision under water. Great quality and very reaqsonable price. Their grinding was actually better than the pair I wore daily back in 1995. Check them out, I am considering retiring my current mask to back up status and will go with Seavision for new mask this summer.

I'll second Seavision for quality Rx masks and lenses.

They don't bond lenses to the faceplate, they grind polycarbonate lenses and insert them into masks.

Their bifocals or gauge readers are great for anyone about 40 and older.

I have full presription lenses for my mask including bifocals. They are wonderful. It was more expensive to have them ground into the lens instead of mounted to an existing lens but well worth it.

I did borrow a mask from my LDS with the power correction only. I felt they also did a good job but the actual script for me with power/astigmatim/bifocal correction is by far the best. WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
