We have our fair share of dinged heads from the tank consoles in the RIBs we ride out in. The most important rule is to hold on at all times. During my OW training, we were hit by a wave that basically knocked the boat into a vertical position (sideways). My wife fell off the pontoon (on the opposite side of the boat) and landed on the Instructor, who was sitting next to me! Fortunately, she was unhurt, even though she was fully kitted up.

Rough seas often make the boat ride more exciting than the dive...
