I have a dacor falcon bc and have been having problems on and off with the inflator leaking into the bladder. Pulled the schrader valve, but after soaking in vinegar the spring gave up. So I ordered a replacement inflator - a scuba choice universal. But it doesn't seem to mate well with the hose. The zip tie just doesn't hold it tight enough. Looses air slowly and I can twist and pull it off. Can't be a good thing, right

Here's a photo of the original inflator on the left and the replacement on the right. power-inflator.jpg See the difference in where the lip on inflator falls? On northeast supplies there is a replacement for seaquest/aqualung that appears to have a similar end to the dacor. My only other choice is to try to find a shrader value for the dacor and it is not a standard size! Any ideas? Thanks!

you may want to try just replacing the whole inflator assembly. The attachment says invalid link so can't see it, but if the flange on the back end is the universal one it may be worth it to shell out the $60 for a new inflator assembly.

Sorry bout that, I just reattached the photo, don't know what happened... When you say back end flange are you talking about just replacing the corrugated hose or directly attaching to the wing? If the full assembly including the wing attachment, whats the change that connection to the wing is "universal?"

post a picture and we'll find out. Interesting it won't hold it tight because the dacor one looks smaller than the new one. They're usually 1" connections and pretty snug to get on there, usually requiring some soap for lube

Here's a shot of the inflator hose to wing:

Note that it is "notched" so that it locks into a specific rotation and then you secure the lock ring.

Took a drive over to a lds and he had a zeagle replacement inflator that fit tighter and I was able to put a 2nd ziptie on it. Of course costs twice the other one, but I think it will work. I may still look into finding the schrader for the original as backup. Interesting exercise... Almost as much fun as cleaning the jets on my honda outboard ;)
