I recently purchased a used Scubapro Knighthawk BC that’s in great shape but it has an integrated Air2 octo/inflator attached to the hose. I really don’t care much for the Air2 and since I already have a decent AquaLung Legend octo on my reg set, I would rather switch it out with a simple power inflator.

I went to the local dive shop to check on getting the standard Scubapro version but the list price was almost $100. That seemed pretty high for what the item actually does so I though I would check to see if anyone here has changed one out for the power inflator you see on most backplate/wing setups. I pulled the hose back and measured the OD of the hose connection of the Air2 and it’s 1” excluding the small barb.

If anyone here has performed this mod or happens to know the hose connection OD of your typical OMS, DSS, OxyCheq, DiveRite, etc. power inflator, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Buckywhiplash,
You can purchase a generic power inflator that will fit Scubapro. The OMS inflator would work also. You shouldn't pay more than $40 for a generic.
