NCDavid, I have a Sherwood Avid that the inflator connection came off with the inflator hose on a inflator hose pull. Heres what I did; I cut 2 patches from an old gym bag that was of the same material about 1/2 inch larger than the hole. If you have ever used 3M 5200 you know how strong it is and how well it bonds to stuff. I put 1 patch on the inside and one on the outside and 5200'd all together. Let cure for 3 or 4 days with some weights on it and then carefully cut a new hole in it and installed a new BC fitting available from Dive Gear Express for $9.00. It is called a BC bladder flange assembly and comes with a weird rubber double gasket that sandwiches the BC material. It works fine. You have to do the patches because the new flange assembly is the same size as the hole where your old one was and will not grab onto the BC. I also learned that it is easier to put the inside part inside the bladder before you 5200 the patches together otherwise it is too hard to get it in through the new hole. It is too bad they didnt make a larger one to sandwich the BC material.
In addition to Jonny Wishbone's excellent advice, see this thread Dromedary Wing for links to parts, tool, and a video that shows how it's done.
