I know someone who bought an Al40. Never really used but had it powder coated.

understanding powdercoating…. i think its dipped in acid for etching. then the powder coat itself

is this safe to use? my concern is the interior might have etched as well?

The higher concern is the loss of strength in the alloy due to the heat used to cure the powdercoat.
