Are you talking a BP/W or BCD?

Having the pockets/pouch on your wetsuit would probably be more practical—this leaves your waist free for a light canister and the left D-ring (to clip your SPG).

You should probably glue AND stich the pocket(s) to your wetsuit.

I have two wetsuits so wearing a pair of X-shorts is the most practical solution for me.

Using thigh pockets makes so much sense-now that I have them, I wish I'd had them years ago. Using bungies in the pockets means you never loose anything as long as you always clip it back when finished-and you always know where it is.

Cheers,
Drew

I like having the pockets on my wetsuit ( http://www.kidspot.org/personal/scubaboard/fincomparison.html#wetsuit ) the only downside is that I need them on all of my suits (shorty, skin for summer, 3mil for winter etc..)

I'm toying with the idea of making a pair of bellows pockets for my suit. Did you use a pattern or are they not too difficult to make? My sewing skills are only slightly better than my singing skills.

I wish I'd used a pattern  I did much better when I asked one of the ladies at Church to sew them on for me - I just explained what I needed and gave her the materials ... I didn't give her enough and the pockets wound up being too small... though still nice. They are about 1.5" deep and should be 3-4" deep... seems excesive, but as I found out it's not... (4" would be my preference now with pockets that are about 11x7")

Aloha, Tim

nah i will just use it on my waiststrap. i dont use cansister lights or anything as of the moment and my entire right side is free. also i dont want to have something permanently attached to my suits. i may even try making a diy velcro strap that i can attach directly to my upper thigh,
