I've received a few PMs asking how to post pictures from the gallery.

Here is the howto:

OK...

To post a picture from the gallery here or in any of your posts...

Go to your picture in the gallery
Copy the "linked thumbnail" information

Example:

[im g]http://www.scubaboard.com/gallery/data/3654/thumbs/blenny12.jpg[/ img] [/ url]

NOTE: I put spaces in so it wouldn't see things correctly. I have highlighted in red the things you need to delete for your image to show here.

The deletion will be the same for every image you want to post from the gallery

This will leave you with the following:
http://www.scubaboard.com/gallery/data/3654/blenny12.jpg[/ img]

NOTE AGAIN: I put spaces in the "img" tags so my picture wouldn't show up here

When done correctly, your image will appear

blenny12.jpg

Like that

If I could suggest something a little easier:

Go to your gallery. Click on the image you want to add to your post. Near the bottom of the screen just to the right of the linked thumbnail field is a small box with a blue center.

Click it, then highlight (drag your mouse) over everything in the Direct Link: box. that is now visible just under the linked thumbnail window.

Cut it using Ctrl-C on your keyboard. You can't right mouse click in the gallery.

Go to your post and click the Insert Image icon -
insertimage.gif

then paste the link contents into the box and hit OK.
Note: by default the .vbulletin s/w adds the http:// so highlight and overwrite it.

So this code in my post:

yields this:

Squid_11_2.jpg

I didn't even know that button was there. I am not at a machine that gives a "print screen". Perhaps you can show the button (and the pop-up that simply says "more").

I also notice that if your image is large enough, there is another selection that includes the "img" link for the medium-size image, rather than someone's larger image.

I wonder why the "img" link isn't a standard show in the gallery. It's the one that is most used to post imagaes in these threads
