My dive buddy and I decided to purchase dry suits recently. I got a DUI 450 CLx, which I love, and he got a O'neil neoprene suit of some sort. Its rear entry with neoprene seals. Problem is that it fills with water whenever he dives. The suit floodes via the neck seal. The seal is tight on his neck and he folds it over like your supposed to. The seal holds until he turns his head to looks to his side and then water poors in. Any ideas? I offered to wrap duct tape around his neck until it sealed but for some reason he wasn't interested.

Sounds like the tendons in his neck are causing the leak (ie- when to turn your head they stand out and sorta open gaps. Put your hand on the side of your neck and turn your head, you'll feel it).

It might be possibe to have the seal replaced with a latex seal. Superior Diving Repair www.drysuitrepair.com could do it if anyone could.

You might be on to something. He is one of those crazy rawfoodist or whatever. Vegitarian and doesnt eat anything that has been cooked. He has almost no body fat. I could see why that could cause problems.

I bet that it. 7mm neoprene suit sure seems an odd choice for our area....

He bought it because of the price. But the price isnt that good if he ends up with a semi-dry.

I just called him and told em to eat a steak a day for the next 30 days and the problem might go away.

Hehehe, good idea! The only other option I can think of is replacing the neoprene seal with latex.
