Let's face it, buying gear is awesome. However sometimes there are simple and inexpensive ways to attain the same (or better) result with just a bit of ingenuity and a quick trip to the hardware store. I'm a big proponent of DIY ideology and I'm sure there are plenty of SB members who feel the same so I thought it would be cool to have a thread dedicated to all things DIY when it comes to our kits.

I'll start with a little mod I have previously posted. Like many others, I was annoyed with the stock strap that came with the Galileo Luna computer. It was cumbersome and always came loose at depth. To top it off there are many stories going around about it only being a matter of time until it breaks anyway. So I decided to fashion up a $2 custom bungee strap that works well on skin as well as wet/dry suits. Extremely easy to don and doff.

I plan on attempting a few more DIY projects on my rig such as a custom long hose storage solution on my tank as well as possible solutions for carrying a pony bottle and backup mask. I'm excited to see some of the things other SB members have thought up!
