I'll update this first post as a running synopsis of this thread.

This is a Post Wrinkles Sunday Boat Dive for the day after the Wrinkles Dive and BBQ in La Jolla.

For a complete list of all of the Wrinkles dives for the 2007 calendar year, see this thread:

http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=169078

When:
Saturday, January 14th

Where:
Dive Connections Inc. - DnD
Mission Bay
San Diego CA

Directions (click here)

For reservations call:
(888) 420-3047
or
(619) 523-9282

You can also make your reservation online at:

http://diveconnections.timetrade.com/

If you do not receive an email confirmation you are not officially registered to go.

Destination:
The El Rey, The Ruby E (2 dives total)

Trip leaves at 7:00am, boarding begins at ?:00 am.

Cost:
(includes AL-80 Tanks provided by Dive Connections and air fills)

$70 per person

There is no compressor on the boat. It's only about a 10 minute ride out to these sites from the dock, so we return to the dock after 2 dives for air fills. This means that if you want to dive tanks larger than AL-80s that you need to bring 2 tanks or you will dive an 80 for the 2nd dive.

Don't wait until the last minute to sign up for any of these boats.

Remember that each of these boats is working on filling these open boats just like we are. If a shop comes along in February that wants to fill an October boat and we have only taken 3 spots. The rest of those spots will be sold. That's the only way that we can work with these boats and not make a financial commitment to them up front.

I've already given my credit card number to all of these boats to hold a spot for me. Keep in mind that they only use the card to hold the spot and will only charge it on the day of the trip, so if you book these trips now for the whole year, you won't be charged for a year's worth of boat diving all at once.

What is the Post Wrinkles Sunday Boat Dive?

Since many people travel for the entire weekend when we go to San Diego for the Wrinkles Beach Dive and BBQ, we are trying something new for our Wrinkles Dives in this region. We are adding a 2 tank boat dive on Sunday for people that would like to do a couple of dives in the morning before having lunch and driving back home on Sunday. This will also allow those of you who can't make it out on a Saturday to join us on a Sunday.

This is a monthly gathering of all divers in SoCal who can make it.

It was named after our SoCal member Mo2vation because of his love for boat dives and all of the friendly jabs he takes at our monthly Wrinkles Beach Dive and BBQ. :D

We welcome both ScubaBoard members and non-ScubaBoard members that you know. It's open to divers of all skill levels from "What's an anchor line?" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

This is a great way to meet our fellow divers and make new dive buddies! You don't have to have a buddy to participate, lots of us would be happy to buddy up with you.

RSVP:

RSVP on the ScubaBoard Calendar once you have a confirmed reservation:

http://www.scubaboard.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=1047&day=2007-1-14&c=32

(you can now rsvp and include your guest count for your non-ScubaBoard buddies!)
Please sign up on the Calendar and update your party size on the calendar with changes, so that we can compare our list with Dive Connection's in advance and make sure that there are no discrepancies.

Confirmed Reservations:
Let me know if I've misrepresented anyone's confirmed reservations here.

I'll update this post as we have more info.

Since this went up ealier this week, many spots have been taken. There are now only 6 spots out of 18 left.

Christian

I'm signed up for the boat and plan to make the Saturday shore dive too.

Jim

Okay Chrisitan, I'm signed up. Wow, you will need protection, 3 times in one month. Though, I wouldn't put much faith in Glycerin being able to protect you, he isn't impervious to the wishes of a dive goddess anymore than you!!

Ya you'd better just surrender Christian. Resistance is useless. ;)

And then there were two.... two slots left I say, :D. Note, if you dive DIN make sure to bring your own tanks or an adapter. They do have a few tanks spread around with provalves, but better to be safe than sorry. Christian this is an outstanding idea for us from the Great White North....

So I'm guessing a lot of the spots taken are not SB'rs. Can't complain though, looks like thou I have to share the men on Saturday they will be all mine on Sunday....

True. Since these are always "open boats", it's first come first serve and the boat filled quickly with non-ScubaBoard members.

That's why it's a good idea to sign up for all of these right away ;)
